Author: Samuel Rutherford
Edited by: Andrew Bonar
Newly set type of the 1891 edition, including some content from the 1783
edition.
A collection of 365 letters.
Also known as "Joshua Redivivus" (Joshua lives again).
Publisher's Commentary: It is doubtful that any book better captures the spirit of Covenanting Britain, or indeed of true Christianity. Filled with comfort for the sorrowing or suffering as well as rebuke for the wayward and willful, these letters cut and soothe, almost in the same breath. Spurgeon said "Let the world know that Spurgeon held Rutherford's Letters to be the nearest thing to inspiration which can be found in all the writings of men."
